The application of pro/engineer in the development of household appliances Abstract: This paper analyzes the product characteristics of the household appliances industry and the requirements of applying modern design technology, reviews the examples of Henan Xinfei Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. using pro/engineer to carry out virtual design and rapid prototype manufacturing in the development of household appliances, and summarizes the experience of the application of pro/engineer. The comprehensive application of modern design technology has strengthened the innovation ability of household appliances and improved the competitiveness of enterprises in the market economy by developing first-class products

1 preface

under the market economy, enterprises must carry out technological innovation and product innovation in order to preempt competitors to provide first-class products that meet users' needs, keep and expand market share, and have the hope to survive and develop in the increasingly fierce market competition. This is especially true in light industry and household appliance industry

in the research and development practice of household appliances, we realize that to provide first-class products that meet the needs of users, product design is always an important basic link, which basically determines the product performance, quality, level, cost and economic benefits. First class products come from first-class design and must be supported by first-class product development process. The product development process includes not only first-class talents, but also modern design methods, tools, technologies, basic platforms, detection means, experimental conditions and information. How to make the product development process of an enterprise become first-class and continuously improve its own innovation ability and level is a problem that every enterprise must face and well solve

the light industrial household appliance industry directly provides consumers with household appliances and other products. It is a production service industry to improve people's quality of life and living standards. Due to the wide range of users, household electrical appliances are generally produced in large quantities, including many plastic parts and stamping parts. The process and quality control requirements are very strict, and the product design and manufacturing cycle is short. Due to mass production and sales, the total profit is relatively high, the market competition is quite fierce, and the enterprise is under great pressure. In order to survive and develop in the fierce competition, we must keep up with the market and constantly adapt to the changes of the market. The second is how to design successfully, that is, after a design is completed and before the mold is put into operation, quickly manufacture a prototype or sample for evaluation and demonstration, and timely modify the design against defects to make it perfect and successful as far as possible

according to the above characteristics and requirements, in order to improve the competitiveness of products, the light industry and home appliance industry should strengthen the innovation ability and response ability to adapt to the market, quickly and efficiently launch new practical, novel, advanced, easy-to-use, high-quality and low-cost products centered on users, quickly go on sale, seize the market opportunity and meet the needs of different users. To achieve this, the only way out is to apply modern design methods, tools and technologies. Create a first-class product development process, and use the excellent computer-aided design system, which is a basic and qualified hard foundation platform for both China Aerospace No. 2 Institute and China Aerospace No. 5 Institute, to create first-class products to maintain a lasting market competitive advantage. This not only reflects the scientific and technological progress of the enterprise, but also is the only way for the enterprise to achieve its own business objectives

3 application example

using virtual design, the design object is directly expressed in the computer through three-dimensional geometric modeling, which is "made" and "assembled" in advance in the computer, and the design is corrected in time according to the problems of size and shape; By means of structural finite element analysis, the "performance" of important parts in the working process is rehearsed by computer, and the weak parts are improved. 4 conclusion

in the face of increasingly fierce market competition, enterprises must have a standardized first-class product development process to meet the requirements of continuously improving quality, reducing costs, shortening the design, manufacturing and delivery cycle, and quickly providing users with required goods. The comprehensive application of modern design technology can improve the product innovation ability of enterprises, launch better products in less time, and effectively enhance the market competitiveness of enterprises

With the support of such common parts and standard parts library, the assembly can be completed quickly and the design cycle of a certain type of product can be effectively shortened

(3) for household electrical appliances, using rapid prototyping technology on the basis of 3D virtual design and assembly can accelerate the process of transforming the design scheme in the minds of engineers into real products. Compared with the digital model, the physical model is no longer a virtual product, but a real thing. It is consistent with the shape and size of the final product. It can be seen and felt, and can be directly used for evaluation or exhibition. The earlier samples or prototypes are taken out, the more conducive it is to demonstrate and timely modify and improve the design, so that enterprises can develop new products with good appearance and high quality and speed up their time to market

(4) for the moulds of plastic parts and stamping parts, only by carrying out structural finite element analysis, mechanism motion and dynamic analysis, injection flow analysis, and optimization design of structure and mechanism on the basis of three-dimensional design and assembly, can we purposefully adjust the product size, shape and material distribution, make the design of plastic parts, stamping parts and moulds more reasonable and more in line with the technical and economic requirements. at present, Xinfei company has realized computer-aided design, rapid prototyping and computer-aided manufacturing in different departments, established the internal computer network of the enterprise and carried out the ERP work of the enterprise. On this basis, we believe that the in-depth application of enterprise computer system and informatization should organically combine design with ERP through PDM, and organically combine design with process and manufacturing through virtual model. With the combination of quality improvement and efficiency increase, Xinfei's product research and development will be further improved
